  • Not To Us – Chris Tomlin
  • Like a Lion – Newsboys
  • Lead Me To The Cross – Chris and Conrad
  • No Turning Back – Chris Tomlin

Today has been one crazy day. I’ll save you the details but just know, it’s been crazy! I don’t think there are words that can describe how strong my pastor has in light of some knowledge he received today and still preached. Let’s not talk about distractions and sound issues, awkward moments of silenced caused by unplugged instruments, and your normal leadership issues when you gather a number of people together.

We started off with Not To Us and things were fine. From that point we went down hill. I unplugged my monitor and couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t hear anything. Awkward silence. I talked about how we are still celebrating the resurrection. God is still alive. Victory over the grave still exists then we went into Like A Lion. We had Thomas on the drums today and so it was his first time playing this song. It’s always interesting to hear different musician’s take on a song. (Last week Pastor Carlo played drums.)

I tried something new with Lead Me To The Cross. I had Heather (piano) start the song on the chorus and we sang the chorus then came in with a hard intro, went light on the first verse and chorus and brought in everyone again for the second verse. Sounded great except one small issue. For some reason, I couldn’t vocally find the key… again! Not sure what’s been up with that lately.

We tried a new song today. No Turning Back is a new version of  I Have Decided by Chris Tomlin on the White Flag album. I’ve been thinking about a new way to sing this song then Chris comes out with one. I love this version, but our team needs a little more work on this song. We did great on it today but it needs tightening and a little more familiarity to lock it in.

!st service was low today but we had visitors in the 2nd service that easily made up for people missing in the first. We also had a NEXT STEPS luncheon today for folks ready to make their next step in the faith as well as at church.

Hope you had a great time at church today.
