7.8.12 Worship Rewind

  • Indescribable – Chris Tomlin
  • Let My Words Be Few – Matt Redman
  • (There Is None Like You) – Lenny Leblanc

Today was an interesting day for me. One service awesome, the other service, not so much, sorta. Let me confess. Let me say first, if you were in second service, it wasn’t you , it was me. The first service was fun, I worshiped and it rocked. The second service, I wanted to check out. We started with three people in the room, kids running in front of the stage, and when everyone finally filled in, it seemed that no one was interested in worship. Now that was my thought just looking out. I’m not saying they were. I’m just saying that how it seemed.

I had to pray as I was singing. I had to check myself and ask God what He thought was going on in everyone’s heart. When we finished singing Indescribable, I became quiet. I just gave myself to a moment of prayer asking God what I should do. He spoke to me saying just be quiet and sing the next song. The next song?

Let My Words Be Few

I took His advice and didn’t pray out loud, I didn’t say anything over the mic. I simply started playing the chord progression to the next song reaffirming that God wanted me just to be quiet. As I sang the last song, I was praying that God would just work and encourage, build up, and simply bless the church. We neared the end of the song and I felt God lead me to sing None Like You. After I sang that chorus, I felt God just wrap me up and say, “There, thanks for worshiping. I really liked that.”

I worshiped!

Maybe someone else did too. I’m not really sure but I do know I checked out and wanted to check out physically but knew I couldn’t. God led me to worship and I really soaked it up like a biscuit sopping up an egg. I hope you don’t mind my confessional but worship leaders are people too. Sometimes… We just don’t feel like it. But even still God is faithful and if we pray for a renewing, He is willing to give it and that’s just what He did today. He renewed my heart to worship Him.

Good word! I felt like checking out during second service too. I was wiped physically and mentally. First service was so powerful from start to finish. i felt like I didn’t have anything left for second service! You should have seen the people with eyes closed worshipping when you started singing “None like you”. It was definitely a God moment!
