Chick-Fil-A (My Thoughts)

If you consider yourself a follower of Christ, there’s no doubt you’ve heard the whirlwind that Chick-Fil-A has been in the last week.

  •  Boston Mayor Tom Menino was the first to announce that the Atlanta-based company would not be welcomed in his city. “You can’t have a business in the City of Boston that discriminates against a population,” he told the Boston Globe. “We’re an open city. We’re a city that’s at the forefront of inclusion.” (Except for including Chick-Fil-A)
  • And Mountain View, Calif, a bedroom community of San Francisco, has temporarily blocked the chicken chain from opening.
  • Chick-fil-A values are not Chicago values,” said Mayor Rahm Emanuel in a statement to the Chicago Tribune. “They disrespect our fellow neighbors and residents.” (Except for your Christian neighbors and residents)

italics-my thoughts

I’ve got so many thoughts on this it’s not funny. The point of this post is to speak only one of my thoughts on the matter. These government officials are idiots. I use such harsh words because if they were in any way smart, they’d let Chick-Fil-A take themselves down.

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel says that “Chick-fil-A values are not Chicago values.” So now a city has values?

My Point

If Dan Cathey has damned his business speaking out on traditional marriage, then let the people’s wallets speak for themselves. If folks want to eat there, fine. If not, they have used their God-given rights to choose not to spend their money there. Let business work it’s thing instead of the government always getting in the way.

Even though Gamaliel was a pharisee, I think he was a wise pharisee. Read how Gamaliel handles those he does not agree with rather than trying to put a stop to their actions.

Acts 3: 33-39  33 When they heard this, they were furious and wanted to put them to death. 34 But a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law, who was honored by all the people, stood up in the Sanhedrin and ordered that the men be put outside for a little while. 35 Then he addressed the Sanhedrin: “Men of Israel, consider carefully what you intend to do to these men. 36 Some time ago Theudas appeared, claiming to be somebody, and about four hundred men rallied to him. He was killed, all his followers were dispersed, and it all came to nothing. 37 After him, Judas the Galilean appeared in the days of the census and led a band of people in revolt. He too was killed, and all his followers were scattered. 38 Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. 39 But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.”

Yeah I like that last part too!

    Love that last sentence!

Can you put that in just for dummies terms?? I still don’t see why the government is going nuts over this. He’s a human with his own opinion and rights to his own judgement (even if it’s wrong) why do people care? It’s not like the sandwich will change.

Just for Dummies Terms: We live in a world ruled by Satan because God allows him. People don’t like Christians because Jesus said they’d hate us as they hated him. Man owns a business that doesn’t discriminate against serving nor hiring said people group yet believes in the biblical definition of said matter. People who don’t like God nor his followers speak out against said business owner because the bible is an antiquated book written by flawed humans and God is fake. These certain people are in government positions hired by said Christians and non-Christians. Flawed human government official tries to pass laws that are illegal. Fight ensues.
