Living a Spirit Led Life

Last Sunday I taught in the Essentials 201 class of our Gracelife University about living a Spirit led life. Simply what that means is we live by faith not knowing what will be around the next corner but relying on the Spirit to lead us as we go.

That’s scary for a lot of folks because it means we’re not in control. To not be in control makes us feel helpless and subject to anything that can or has the potential to get the best of us. This leads us to live a life of fear.

How we forget that although it seems we’re helpless and not in control, the One who promised to never leave us but always provide our every need is faithful to his word. I love Romans 8:28 that say all things work together for good to those who love God.

Living a Spirit led life means that each thing that happens to us is for good. Maybe not our good but someone’s. This leads me to believe that when my schedule doesn’t work out, someone cancels a meeting, I’m detoured on my drive, my plans get halted or whatever the case, God is working something out behind the scenes.

If you think the Christian life is boring, you’re not doing something right. You’re not living a Spirit led life. Living a Spirit led life is adventurous, scary, and quite frankly nerve wrecking at times but the excitement that follows when God shows up in perfect timing is beyond worth it.
