Worship Rewind 2013

What. A. Day!!!

We woke up to ice all over the place yet the roads were not frozen. We didn’t call off church though some churches did call off early services to allow for temps to heat up and people to make it safely to church. I texted Pastor Carlo to see if he had electricity and he called me to inform me he was stuck in the gated storage area because the electricity was out and he couldn’t engage the gate to open. By the time I arrived we were able to get the gate open manually so he could get out and we could get in to get all the equipment to take to church.

When we arrived at the Kleeman to set up for church, we learned that although they did have electricity, the heater had broken. So one of the men at church went and got a jet heater to warm the place up. They left it running through worship but during the message, they turned it off and it got cold cold. Also, as I was outside setting up the signs, I stepped on the bumper of a truck to get some things out of the back. When I slung the fence post out for the sign I was setting up, my feet slipped on the icy bumper and I fell hard on the tail gate and bruised my rib. It hurts like you wouldn’t believe.

Worship was great this morning. We got people moving this morning clapping and dancing to keep warm. It’s been a while since we done Mission’s Flame and the band did a great job remembering how to play it. Heather (pianist) and I had a hard time feeling our fingers as we played but we made it work. We had a good crowd today although it was nasty weather out. Some new folks came as well and everyone stayed even though it was cold. We also had a guest speaker Aaron Rice and his family are going to be missionaries in Peru and he stopped in to speak to us.

The weather was bad but church was awesome today. I really enjoyed being with everyone and worship God. Great day.

“Self dependent Christians use God as a tool to get what they want in life. God dependent Christians understand God gives and takes away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.” -Aaron Rice
